on the bright side

today has not been the best day. and it's time to do some blessing counting

emily

she's very supportive. and loving. and beautiful. all i could ask for. i wish you were closer, honey. i love you.

my family

i live my sister and her husband, and they help to lighten me up a lot. i know at times they probably think it's a lost cause, but it isn't. and my parents help to remind me of the practical things in life i always seem to forget. i love them all very much.

my friends

most of my friends are in other states right now, but i love it when i get calls from them. though a visit would be nice from time to time.....

my blog

in case you haven't noticed, i've been doing this a lot lately. it's become quite the outlet for me. hopefully i'll get back to some subjects you guys like.

my job

really just b/c of the paycheck, like most jobs. i can't stand the work itself. the people are great, though.

music

here's the music i've recently acquired: bloc party (Silent Alarm), ok go (Oh No), modest mouse (The Lonesome Crowded West), pedro the lion (Progress-EP), tom waits (Bone Machine), portishead (Dummy), the folkway recordings (guthrie, seeger, leadbelly), vu (Andy Warhol), elbow (Leaders of the Free World), and more. this is all in the past month and a half, as a result of not being able to buy books. i've gotten as many as possible on the cheap, though.

speaking of books....

only one month and six days until my fast is officially over.

there's more things to be grateful for, but this entry's long enough already and i've got a room to clean.

Blake, I know what you're going through, yesterday was hell for me too! I wrote about the ten things that bring me joy in life. Sometimes you gotta stop and count the good things in life because they normally outweigh the bad. keep on keepin' on.
