i spent the weekend in virginia with emily. she was the maid of honor in the parton-mcguire wedding, and it was all very sweet. emily was of course stunning. we spent the rest of saturday together, a lot of which consisted of me asking to go places in blacksburg that she didn't really feel like going to. i think she had fun, nonetheless.

i started my drive back around 1-is virginia time. i listened to a lot of music in the car, listening to the following as i remember them: jars of clay's first cd, guster, pedro the lion's it's hard to find a friend, franz ferdinand, the postal service, moby's 18, et al. i can't really remember them all right now, and it's a long drive so there were even more.

the drive itself was beautfiul. there was a point where in the distance ahead the mountains ceased to look like mountains and all that was in front of me looked to be nothing but a great flat wall of indomitable trees.

Found your blog in a link from justinjes....

Just wanted to say - "a great flat wall of indomitable trees" - I really like how you worded that phrase!
